New Taiwan Dollar (NT$) Period

On June 15, 1949, the Taiwan Provincial Government promulgated the “Regulations Governing the Issuance of the New Taiwan Dollar” and began currency reform. Since then, first the Bank of Taiwan and then the Central Bank have been responsible for issuance.
