Mount Dabajian
The peaks of Mount Dabajian, located on the north side of the Xueshan Range’s ridgeline, are the main offshoots of Xueshan’s main ridge. Mount Dabajian is surrounded by four mountain ridges of various lengths on the east, north, and west sides. The mountain has distinctive geological features, and the peak is a hard sandstone pyramid formed by strong wind erosion.
The four cliffs of Mount Dabajian are denuded of vegetation. Its austere appearance has earned the epithet, “the most spectacular peak of the century”. Mount Dabajian, Mount Zhongyangjian, and Mount Dafenjian are known as “the Three Peaks”. The aboriginal Atayal and Saisiyat tribes regard Mount Dabajian as their sacred ground.
